Adoptable Animals

Celine

Adult | Female | Medium

Redbone Coonhound

Color: Red / Chestnut / Orange

Characteristics: Playful, Funny, Athletic

Coat length: Short

Good with: Other dogs and, children.

Celine is not just any pup; she's a 2-year-old, 40-pound bundle of joy waiting to bring happiness into your home! Celine is currently a bit underweight and could use a few more "groceries in her basket". With her adorable floppy ears and wagging tail, Celine is ready to charm her way into your heart. Celine's personality is as sunny as his disposition. She's a curious girl who loves to explore the world around her. Whether it's greeting other dogs with a wag or cuddling up with her favorite humans, Celine's enthusiasm knows no bounds. She recently spent a weekend with a foster family who had three dogs of different sizes, and she fit right in, proving herself to be a friendly and adaptable companion. Foster mom says, "Celine is just lovely. She is still very thin, but is eating well. She is doing great with my dogs, enjoying playing with them and being in the backyard. She loves squeaky toys and has enjoyed digging through our basket to find just the right one. She also sings along with Blue when he starts howling."

We never met mom or dad and have no idea her breed makeup. We’re not sure if “perfect angel pup” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that she’s a sweet, young pup that’s happy and playful and all the things young pups should be.

Celine's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay, and microchip. If you'd like to welcome this sweet pup into your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" tab. Unfortunately, we don't receive any inquiries sent through the Petfinder system, so the only way to be considered for adoption is to fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website  here.

Adult | Male | Medium

Schnauzer & Basset Hound Mix

Color: Apricot / Beige, White / Cream

Characteristics: Friendly, Curious, Playful, Smart

Coat length: Short

Good with: other dogs, and children

House-Trained

This is Sheldon, a 3-year-old, Schnauzer / Bassett mix (maybe, best guess) who weighs in at 45-pounds. This delightful low-rider is crate trained, house trained and walks well on a leash. Sheldon gets along famously with other dogs in his foster home, demonstrating his friendly and adaptable nature. He is a fantastic travel companion and loves accompanying his humans on car rides. And you better believe his short legs don't stop him from jumping on the bed or couch when offered the opportunity. Sheldon loves all the things...walks, squeaky toys, fetch, but most especially love and cuddles. He is very affectionate and learning to trust again. Foster mom says, "He's a gem and is going to make a family really happy. He came in and just adapted right to our schedule! Sheldon is very chill especially after he gets twice daily walks! This guy has a lot of personality and is very smart."

We never met Mom or Dad and have no idea his breed makeup. We’re unsure if “perfect angel pup” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say he’s an adorable mutt. What we know is that he’s a sweet pup that’s happy and playful and all the things young dogs should be.

Sheldon's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, neutering, and a microchip. Doug

Adult | Male | Large

Labrador Retriever & Chocolate Labrador Retriever

Color: Brown / Chocolate

Characteristics: Friendly, Affectionate, Loyal, Gentle, Smart, Curious, Loves Kisses, Playful

Coat length: Short

Good with other cats, dogs, and children

House-Trained: Yes

Let me tell you about Doug. Doug is 6 or 7 years old-ish. He looks like a lab and is a very good boy. Doug LOVES car rides and is the perfect passenger prince. He will simply sit in the back seat and nap or watch the world go by. He is great on a leash and enjoys his daily walks. He loves ALL people! The more attention he gets, the more excited he is. He is a “plug and play” kind of dog--like he would do well in pretty much any environment. He does think he’s a lap dog and has no idea of his size. He is just trying to get loved on. Foster mom says, "Doug LOVES affection. He’s a couch potato and loves to be with people. He will follow us around the house just so he can be with us. He kind of fits the energy around him. If there’s a party going on, he’s right in the middle of it. If it’s a lazy Saturday, he’ll nap all day with us. Doug is just a silly, sweet blockhead."

We never met mom or dad and have no idea his breed makeup. We’re not sure if “perfect angel” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say he’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that he’s a sweet, little pup that’s happy and healthy and all the things good dogs should be.

Doug's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, neuter, and microchip. If you'd like to welcome this friendly pup into your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" tab. Weekend

***Deaf***

Young | Female | Medium

American Staffordshire Terrier & Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Color: White / Cream, Apricot / Beige

Characteristics: Playful, Snuggly, Sweet

Coat length: Short

Good with: other cats, dogs, and children

Weekend is just as cute as can be! Weekend (4 months old) walks well on a leash and is doing great with potty training. Weekend is a rough and tumble kind of girl that knows how to have a good time. While she hasn't encountered any cats while in rescue, she is young enough to learn to live with one. Foster mom says, "There are so many “perks” and advantages to owning a deaf dog. My favorite? They sleep SO hard and when you’re training with them, they don’t get distracted by outside noises like a hearing dog would. Training a deaf dog isn't harder than any other dog, it's just different. Weekend is a sweet, smart, and loving dog. She is curious and anything can become a toy. She plays well with the other pups in the house and loves to be around the kids. The perfect forever family for Weekend would be an active one with another pup for a playmate. Weekend is happy, confident and definitely not shy. She loves to be outside exploring the world."

We never met mom or dad and have no idea her breed makeup. We’re not sure if “perfect angel pup” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that she’s a sweet pup that’s happy and healthy and 100% good dog.

Weekend's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay, and microchip. Characteristics: Playful, Smart, Funny, Curious

Coat length: Short

Good with: other cats, dogs, and children

Target’s a champion at zoomies and never met a toy he doesn’t like. He is a clever, adventurous, love bug. He spends his days rompin and rollin with the other pups in the house, living his best dog life! Target is about 1-year-old and weighs 66 pounds. He walks well on a leash and sleep in a crate at night. Foster mom says, "Target is really a sweetheart. He has tons of energy, loves to play, loves every single toy in the toybox, and hasn’t met a dog he doesn’t like. He’s smart and definitely food motivated, so easy to train. He also has taken very well to crate training. He’s just so joyful every single day. He wrestles with our dogs, runs around the yard full tilt, then comes inside and passes out on your lap, ready to be snuggled."

We are pleased to introduce, the shy girl, Creek. Creek walks well on a leash, is doing great with crate training and gets along well with the other pups in the house. She let someone pet her on our walk today!! How is she adorable you ask? When she's happy she wags her ENTIRE bottom half and SMILES!! When she knows her howling is going nowhere.. she starts to ...purr? Sounds like chewbaca." Creek will likely do best in a quiet home.

We never met mom or dad and have no idea her breed makeup. We’re not sure if “perfect angel” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that she’s a sweet, little pup that’s happy and healthy and 100% good dog.

Stephanie

Puppy | Female | Medium

Beagle & Hound Mix

Color: Black, Golden

Characteristics: Funny, Curious, Playful

Coat length: Short

Good with: other cats, dogs, and children

Meet Stephanie, your friendly furball on a mission to conquer the world, one wag at a time! She might be just a little pup now, but don't let her size fool you – she's got a big personality packed into this pint-sized package. Foster mom says, "Stephanie (Stevie) is always in motion so hard to get a great photo! She is the littlest of the pups but also the bossiest. She’s very playful and curious but can be very sweet and cuddly when she’s done exploring. She is a toy hoarder and thinks the world belongs to her!"

We never met mom or dad and have no idea her breed makeup. We’re not sure if “perfect angel puppy” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that she’s a sweet, little pup that’s happy and playful and all the things puppies should be.

Irene

Adult | Female | Small

Beagle

Color: Tricolor (Brown, Black, White)

Characteristics: Curious, Playful, Funny, Friendly

Coat length: Short

Good with: other cats, dogs, and children

House-Trained: Yes

Meet Irene, 25 pounds of perfect Beagle! We estimate her age to be about 3 years old. We don't think she has ever lived in a house before but is adapting to the cushy indoor life quite well. She walks well on a leash and loves to get her sniff on. She enjoys meeting other dogs on walks but is very timid at first. She usually lays down, definitely the submissive one. She has really enjoyed playing with the other pups in the foster home. We think she'd enjoy a home with another dog. She's definitely a follower! And she'd probably prefer a calmer environment. Irene has made great progress since entering rescue and would benefit from additional training. Foster mom says, "She's a funny, goofy girl! Sometimes she loves to run in circles around the room and have you pretend to chase her. You can't come at her too quickly though or she gets scared. She does NOT like loud noises or a water hose. The vacuum sends her hiding. But above everything else, she loves to be around her people. She is a very sweet girl."

Irene's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay, and microchip. If you'd like to welcome this sweet pup into your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" tab. *** Applications Closed ***

Puppy | Female | Medium

Wheaten Terrier

Color: Bicolor

Characteristics: Curious, Playful, Funny, Friendly

Coat length: Long

Good with: other dogs, cat,s and children

Meet Wheaties--the ridiculously adorable. The teddy bear puppy is available, but don't let looks deceive you, she doesn't just want to lay on your bed to be snuggled, she is ready to go! Wheaties definitely had HER Wheaties and is ready to play! She may be petite, but she doesn't let that stop her! She happily plays with 80lb dogs and tries to play right along with them! She is full of life!

Wheaties is approximately 12 weeks old and is new to life in a house. She has spent the past few weeks learning about family life, sleeping in a crate, potty training, car rides. All the good stuff! Foster mom says, "Wheaties loves playing with our large, male labs. She jumps on them, chases them, plays tug of war, and follows them wherever they go. I think she prefers them to humans. She likes to herd everyone around the yard and will lay down and then take off and chase whoever moves first. She gets the 10pm zoomies like clockwork if outside :) She loves to play hard and sleep hard."

We never met mom or dad and have no idea her breed makeup (but Wheaten Terrier is a strong guess). We’re not sure if “perfect angel puppy” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that she’s a sweet, little pup that’s happy and playful and all the things puppies should be.

Ember

Adult | Female | Medium

Black Labrador Retriever & German Shepherd Dog

Color: Black

Characteristics: Affectionate, Playful, Funny, Friendly

Coat length: Long

Good with: other dogs and children

House-Trained: Yes

We are pleased to introduce you to Ember. This sweet gal is the perfect medium-sized dog weighing in at 45 pounds. We think she is about a year and a half old, and we don't expect her to get any bigger. Ember is the greatest breed of all: Heinz 57, but she gives us strong lab/shepherd vibes. Ember is great with other dogs and would really like to live with another dog or two. We think having a doggie sibling would help build her confidence and show her how to "dog". She goes for daily walks with several neighborhood dogs and enjoys their company each morning. Ember is also good with children and currently lives with a six and a nine year old. She has never met a cat while in our care, so we can't say definitively how cat savvy she may be.

Ember likes to go on walks, play, chase her ball, and go to the park. She is potty trained but doesn't really care for a crate. Ideally she would find a work-from-home family or someone that can teach her that crates aren't so bad. She loves her people and spending time with them, and we think a doggy best friend would also make her very happy. Ember is a happy, healthy young lady who loves everyone she meets. She'd love to accompany you on hikes, to breweries, and whatever adventures she can tag along on.

Ember's adoption fee is $250, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, spay, microchip, and preventatives. If you'd like to welcome this black beauty into your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" tab. Unfortunately, we don't receive any inquiries sent through the Petfinder system, so the only way to be considered for adoption is to fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website here

Meet Barbara Jean, our favorite senior girl. Since landing in a Sanctuary Rescue foster home, this lovely lady has received lots of love and a comfortable place to relax. We don't know her exact age but feel confident calling her a senior. We also know nothing of her breed heritage but can confirm she is the one of the loveliest mutts we've ever met.

Barbara Jean is looking for a companion family that just wants to hang out and take walks around the neighborhood. She is an affectionate girl and is happy as a clam when some shows her attention. Foster mom says, "Barbara Jean is a great dog, even tempered, easy going and very loveable. As an older dog she takes things slow and enjoys every minute. She loves being around people, she might not hear you when you walk in, but when she finally sees you, she will never want to leave your side. She has come a long way since being in a shelter and is looking for a home where she can continue to thrive."

Color: Gray / Blue / Silver, White / Cream

Characteristics: Affectionate, Funny, Playful, Friendly, Loyal, Couch Potato, Sweet And Sassy

Coat length: Short

Good with: children

House -Trained: Yes

Feast your eyes upon the best snortin' sweet potato on the east coast, Poutine! She may be small, but she's definitely not short of personality. Poutine loves meeting new people and is a star everywhere she goes! She isn't shy about rolling over for belly rubs or making herself comfortable in anyone's lap that she can fit in. Poutine enjoys going for (short) walks and she's been known to get the cutest case of the zoomies you've ever seen, but she really isn't an athletic girly. Poutine thrives with a more sedentary lifestyle and makes a great passenger princess on car rides. Poutine has a unique anatomy; she is very heat sensitive and her stout little legs aren't built for large staircases, but she tries her best. Poutine excels in napping, making people smile, and is amazing with kids.

We have no idea her what her exact breed makeup is, and we're not sure if “teacup sweet potato” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say she’s an adorable mutt! What we do know is that she’s a great dog with a great smile and we hope you want to make her a part of your great family.

Wheaten Terrier

Color: Bicolor

Characteristics: Curious, Playful, Funny,

Coat length: Medium

Good with: other dogs, cat,s and children

Sandhurst is a happy-go-lucky boy who just wants to be everyone's friend. He loves to run and play with other dogs and enjoys all the toys. Once he runs out his puppy energy, he will happily join you on the couch for some snuggles and a nice nap. While he snoozes and snores, you can swoon over how cute he is! He spends his days rompin and rollin with the other pups in the house, living his best puppy life! Foster mom says, "Sandhurst is a very friendly, fluffy, wiggly pup. He is very confident, curious, playful and full of energy. He loves to interact with his siblings and foster sister, playing chase, wrestling, dipping his toes in the puppy pool and exploring in the yard. Sandhurst settles nicely once he has had an opportunity to burn off some of his puppy energy. He has been wonderful with humans of all ages."

Mom is a Wheaton Terrier, and we assume dad was too, but we never met him. We’re not sure if “perfect angel puppy” is a recognized breed, so we’ll just say he’s an adorable mutt. What we do know is that he’s a sweet, little pup that’s happy, healthy, and playful and all the things puppies should be.

Sandhurst's adoption fee is $350, which includes age-appropriate vaccinations, neuter, and microchip. If you'd like to welcome this friendly pup into your family, please visit sanctuaryrescue.com and fill out an adoption questionnaire under the "forms" tab. Unfortunately, we don't receive any inquiries sent through the Petfinder system, so the only way to be considered for adoption is to fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website here

Characteristics: Curious, Playful, Funny,

Coat length: Long

Good with: other dogs, cat,s and children

One look at Ellington is all it will take. Trust us, we’ve tried to resist the cuteness, but the level of adorableness is off the charts with this young guy. This happy puppy is a bundle of fluffy goodness. Watching her play is pure entertainment! Just set her down with plenty of toys, and this playful little pup will go to town. He spends his days rompin and rollin with the other pups in the house, living his best puppy life!

Foster mom says, "Ellington is a very outgoing, confident and friendly pup. He is very curious and loves to explore and play. Ellington is quite an energetic and active boy, but settles nicely once he has had an opportunity to run and play for a little while. He is the most physical pup in the litter and loves to wrestle. He gets along with his siblings, foster brother and sisters and respects their messages when his puppy energy becomes too much for them. Ellington has done well with humans of all sizes and ages."

Rupert (Blind)

Senior | Male | Small

Yorkshire Terrier

Color: Bicolor

Characteristics: Friendly, Brave, Gentle, Couch Potato

Coat length: Medium

Good with: other dogs, and children

House-Trained

This super special little guy is Rupert. He is between 7 & 10-years-old, weighs 8-pounds and is blind in both eyes. He will do best in a calm and quiet home. Rupert loves to meet anyone who shows even a little interest in him. He wags his little tail and wants to be petted and held. Rupert walks fairly well on a leash. He just needs help navigating his way around. He will need twice daily medication for the rest of his life for Protein Losing Nephropathy (kidney disease). Rupert does best with calmer dogs. Unpredictable movements by over enthusiastic dogs make him nervous, for the same reason we'd like to see him in a home with no children or older children that he can feel at ease around. Foster mom says, "Rupert is a pretty low-energy cuddle bug who loves to be with his people and canine friends. He is also very brave and is not afraid of exploring new territory despite his blindness. He simply uses echo location along with his sense of smell to find his way around. He barks for help if his loses his way. I simply talk to him, clap my hands or snap my fingers repeatedly so he can hone in on my location and walk to me."

Rupert's adoption fee is $350, which includes up-to-date vaccinations, neuter, and microchip.
